Our little tea house has a limit of 20 guests, who would be spread throughout the house. We do not have any one room that will accommodate all 20, but we do work with the Pinner House a local Bed and Breakfast, to serve up to 60 in one room. This might be ideal for parties with guests who have mobility issues, as the tea house is 152 years old and is not ADA compliant. The majority of our seating at Stillwater House is up a steep, narrow staircase.
If you choose to use the Pinner house, you will need to make scheduling arrangements with Mia Byrd, who can be reached at 757-617-6826 or via email MIA at BYRDHOUSEBRANDS.COM. We also are happy to cater in the facility of your choice, as long as it can meet our health and safety standards. Stillwater Tea House charges about $8-$10 per guest for dish rental, linens, and catering service, in addition to the price of food.
As for food, take a look at our menu. You are free to choose whichever tea service suits you, with no extra charges for using the whole tea house, unless you book an extra hour beyond our 90 minute standard. The extra hour fee is $50. There are also no extra charges for sharing a tea service.
Cake, or other outside foods are allowed with notice, but cannot be touched or served by Stillwater Tea House associates. Chocolate cake or candy is prohibited, as it is impossible to remove from vintage linens. Decorations and crafts must have prior approval and cannot contain or use flower petals, glitter, glue, rhinestones, tape, stickers, paint, or markers. Parties who ignore these rules will be charged a cleaning fee and asked not to return.
I do hope our services will meet your needs! Please enjoy this review of Stillwater Tea House, which includes several helpful photos of the rooms and staircase, among other attributes.
